Can Focused Eye Roll Be Used for Stye & Chalazion Prevention

You Used Focused Eye Roll for your Stye / Chalazion Flare Up: But Can Focused Eye Roll Be Used to Prevent a Stye or a Chalazion?
Styes and chalazia often begin with an inflammatory process of a clogged oil gland. If bacteria is involved - we have a stye (aka hordeolum). If no bacteria is involved - then it's a non-infective chalazion. In either case, Focused Eye Roll is a warm, active, rolling compress – a useful eye care tool to properly clean and drain that clogged debris.
Understanding the FOCUSED EYE ROLL
What is the FOCUSED EYE ROLL?
The FOCUSED EYE ROLL is an eye-sized, medical grade, stainless steel eye massage tool. It’s designed to deliver active, massaging compression directly on the eyelid area of concern.
How it works
Warm under running hot/warm water to heat the stainless steel roller. Your shower or bath water is the usually the right temperature. Always test the temperature on the inside part of your wrist before using. Rolling in up, down and side-to-side motions will help soften thickened oils in the meibomian glands and to promote natural oil flow. Read how to enhance your eye care routine with Focused Eye Roll here.

Preventing Styes with FOCUSED EYE ROLL
Daily Massage Technique
Use once a day for 1 session. Each session lasts 30 seconds. Run along the entire length of the eyelid, side-to-side, with the eyes closed. Scroll up and down perpendicular to the eyelid for upper and lower eyelids.
Integrate with Our Stye Cleansing System
For those with repetitive or chronic stye history. You'll likely need more than just the roller. Follow the 4 steps in the Stye Cleansing System: ROLL, SCRUB, WASH, SPRAY. Read the tutorial here.

Preventing Chalazia with FOCUSED EYE ROLL
Massage for Meibomian Gland Health
Chalazia form when meibomian oils solidify. Use once a day for 1 session. Each session lasts 30 seconds. Run along the entire length of the eyelid, side-to-side, with the eyes closed. Scroll up and down perpendicular to the eyelid for upper and lower eyelids.
Combine with MGD Cleansing
Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD) can linger with episodes of flare ups and flare downs. Again, you'll likely need more than just Focused Eye Roll. Follow the 3 steps in the MGD Cleansing System ROLL, SCRUB, WASH. Read the tutorial here.
Building a Comprehensive Preventative Eye Care Routine
- Step 1: Warm the FOCUSED EYE ROLL.
- Step 2: Roll the heat for a total of just 30 seconds.
- Step 3: Clean with Stye or MGD Cleansing System.
- Step 4: Finish with your preferred eye cream. Read about our eye creams here.

Why This Matters
In my opinion flare up and flare down episodes are not fun but they are also not healthy long term. It's a beautiful thing when my patients pick up an eye care cleansing routine that prevents the flare ups from happening in the first place. Clean eyes are happy eyes.
