Demodex Mite Solutions: Gentle, Effective Eye Care for Sensitive Eyes

Question: "I love We Love Eyes as a makeup remover. But I stopped using it because I stopped wearing makeup. The reason I stopped makeup is because I started having bad burning, and retinal migraines. Doctor said I had (Demodex) mites in my eyes, and a lot of debris. He prescribed some toxic drops that work but I wasn't happy with the research because it didn't tell me the ages of the clients involved. I am 78 and don't want to risk my eyes. Triphala eye wash has helped reduce the irritation but I need something more. Do you have an eye wipe, or eye drops or both that kill mites and wipe away the debris from mites? If so, I want to buy it right away. Thanks for your help."

DEMODEX MITES CLEANSING SYSTEM

I recommend trying our Demodex Mites Cleansing System. This system is designed to:

  • Imitate what I do in the exam room with demodex mites debris but in the comfort of your own home.
  • Physically remove the debris that Demodex mites create.
  • Utilize tea tree oil to effectively cleanse and keep Demodex mites from overpopulating. Note: the TTO concentration does not kill the Demodex. It will keep them under control.
  • Protects the eyelid skin barrier while cleansing (oil, then foam) to perform my favorite type of cleansing: the DOUBLE CLEANSE.

Additional Tips for Managing Eye Mite Irritation

  • Use a 10X Magnifying Mirror: I use a slit lamp magnifier in my exam room. My patients use a 10X lighted magnifying mirror at home to ensure accuracy and no eye injuries!
  • Do This Daily: Once a day before bedtime is a good starting point. Cleansing more doesn't make Demodex mites go away faster, it just irritates the delicate eyelid margin faster.
  • Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Washing with surfactants (i.e. soaps) strips the eyelid skin barrier. A healthy eyelid skin barrier is one that will be less prone to Demodex flare ups. Do my double cleanse method to keep that eyelid skin barrier healthy. Oil, then foam (and in that order).
  • Consult Your Optometrist: Ask your optometrist about my Demodex Mites Debris Cleansing System and if it's right for you. Many of my patients do the system at home successfully which reduces office visits and expensive sessions of Blephex with me.
  • Check My Blog: In the We Love Eyes website search bar, enter "demodex" to pull up all my blog posts and the tutorial for Demodex Mites Debris Cleansing System.
