Is there anything more magical than the perfect mascara? I still think about my Dior Show back in college. I loved that stuff. I never thought about it then, but I do think about it now.

Top commercial mascara brands are known to contain inexpensive, yet unhealthy ingredients. Some ingredients help the mascara "stick" to your eyelashes, thus accentuating the appearance of length. Many mascaras are heavily stocked with harsh preservatives to kill bacteria. Many of these unhealthy ingredients are considered toxic to the sensitive skin of the eyelids. Even the eyes themselves.
Ever apply your mascara and your eyes becomes red and itchy? It's probably the ingredients. A great tool that I recommend my patients to use is this: EWG’s Skin Deep.
Here’s a list of top harmful mascara ingredients you need to avoid like an ex-boyfriend:
- Formaldehyde and Parabens
- Aluminum Powder and Coal Tar Dyes
- Propylene Glycol
- Fragrances
